For some unexplained reason an "f" went mssing at the start of the link.
It should be:
ftp://ftp.qualcomm.com/eudora/eudorapro/windows/extras/dictionaries/3.0.1andlater/

Make up your mind. Do you, or don't you, have a spell checker?

There is also uchange.tlx: "Filename of user-defined list of words to
change when spell checking." No idea what this means at all.
Thanks,

If for example you regularly type "teh" instead of "the", this featue
you mention will automatically correct your typing. As to how to get
it to work, well, others will have to tell you as I have no idea.

There are three user files for Eudora's spell-checker: usuggest.tlx,
uignore.tlx and uchange.tlx. Uignore.tlx is the one where words get added
if you tell Eudora to add them to the dictionery. It is the list of words
that the spell checker should ignore. Usuggest.tlx is a list of
mis-spelled words along with the corrections you'd like suggested for them
when the spell-checker finds them. Uchange.tlx is a similar list, but
instead of suggesting the words, Eudora will automatically make the
changes for you. The format for the files is as follows.
The first line should be: #LID xxxx y z where xxxx is the version number
of the spell checker, "0009" for Eudora, y is the type of file (0 for
uchange.tlx, 1 for uignore.txt, 2 for usuggest.txt) and z is the number of
entries in the file. Each entry goes on a separate line.
Entries for uignore.tlx are simply the words you want to add to the
dictionary. Entries for the other two files consist of the mis-spelled
word followed by a colon followed by the correct spelling. Like this:
Endora:Eudora.
Eudora uses the Wintertree spell-checker engine. A number of other
programs use it as well, and some of them come with versions of usuggest
and uchange that have varying numbers of entries already in them. Their
names of these files vary from program to program, but Eudora will make
use of them if you copy them to the right place, rename them and make sure
the version number in the first line is right. Juno and the LiveJournal
client for Windows are two that I've come across that use the Wintertree
spell checker and come with files with lists of words. (Looking for tlx
files on your hard drive will locate them if you have any. I don't think
the extension ever changes.)

It also works when you regularly type "featue" instead of "feature".
Sadly FreeAgent doesn't have a similar facility - I'm too much of a
cheapskate to pay for Agent, which has a spell checker.
