That happens when Windows and/or Eudora gets confused about where the
edges of the viewable area are located. (I'm not sure whether the problem
is in Windows or Eudora. I've seen this happen with other programs too
though, which makes me suspect Windows has something to do with it.) The
setting for using small or large fonts in the Windows display settings
sometimes has something to do with this problem in general. Sometimes,
switching screen resolutions, shutting down Windows, then restarting and
switching back will cure the problem. That solution probably applies more
to Win9x then to newer versions though.
Which version of Windows are you using? If you're using a relatively new
version, you could try setting Eudora's menus to scroll rather than
wrapping. The setting for that is WrapMenus=0. It goes in the [settings]
section of eudora.ini.
If that's not a good solution, you can do something to make the number of
items on the menus fit in the available space - change the menu font
and/or font size to something that fits better, make there be less items
on the list, switch screen resolutions, etc. If you have a huge number of
mailboxes, consider arranging them into folders. If you have a large
number of recipients on the quick recipient list, consider having less.
That's meant as a list of really commonly used recipients, not as a
complete address book listing. If you let the list of items to be
displayed get long enough, eventually you run into problems with the
pop-up menus displaying at all. Windows has some limitations on how many
items can be displayed in a popup menu, and Eudora's reaction to the
limitation is to display nothing if it is exceeded.
