Sudden trouble formatting text

This morning, what did work, no longer does.

When creating a new e-mail, most of the text editing options are gray
'ed out, and I can't create dark, large, color text, or much of
anything else. I guess I have lost a setting somewhere?

I could try re-installing Eudora, I guess.

I would appreciate any help on this.

Styled Text? ("Plain" without "Ask" is a losing combination;
the formatting toolbar is also useful to show).

I think that there's always a small chance that this can fix something,
about equal to the odds of winning the iPod raffle at a local fundraiser,
but there's also a chance of breaking something, given that the installer
offers choices, each time, to which you can actually guess a wrong answer :)

I lost the correct setting in 'Styled Text' somehow. It was set to
'plain text only', which was wrong of course. How I have no idea.
