There was a post just the other day about running a local POP client/SMTP
server on a Win 95 pc.  This program would read the email from the ISP, and
then eudora would send/receive via this locally running program.

Anyone remember the name or location of this program???

I'm running a program called jsmail that does this same thing, but it isn't
perfect.  I like it because when I turn on my computer in the morning and have
200 email messages to download I don't have to wait for eudora to read all
before I can use eudora. It is also very fast to send email from eudora as I
don't have to wait while for my ISPs server. It is also suppose to send email
dirrectly to receipents instead of sending to my ISP's smtp server which may
take a hour to forward on.

Bill,

Sounds like the freeware version of SLMail is what you need.  It
provides up to six mailboxes and one mailing list.  SeattleLab has a
variety of products to address your PC server needs.  I am not
affiliated with them at all, just a happy customer.

Also, O'Reilly may have other Win95 server software that might interest
you.

I didn't see the post you are refering to but you could try Fastraq

This is currently an Alpha release but doesn't have any serious bugs
that I have found. (I've been using it for about a month now)

When searching for such a beast I also found WIDIS which I think is on
Demon's ftp site and VPOP3 from http://www.pscs.co.uk
I haven't tried either of these but as far as I can tell windis uses
smtp to receive mail whereas VPOP3 uses POP3 (Fastraq uses smtp).
