Migrating into Eudora 8.0b7
|
| |
I'm running Thunderbird 2.0.0.23 on a Mac. But I hate the interface. I liked Eudora so I've installed Eudora 8.0b7 and now need to migrate from TBird to Eudora. I know Eudora is based on TBird - but any issues I should be aware of? If it goes wrong, will I still be able to access email via TBird? Couldn't find the info on Mozilla help pages. When I hit Tools>Import... more »

saving attachment destination in Eudora filters
|
| |
This is a question that has been asked several times but never received a satisfactory answer. How can one save the field "move attachment(s) to" in Eudora Filters so as to avoid redefining them each time one retrieves the hard disk from a backup or copies the data from one hard disk to another? Many thanks for any idea.... more »

migrating eudora 6.2.4 (Tiger) to new machine with SnowLeopard
|
| |
I have a paid version of Eudora 6.2.4 currently running on a PPC machine with Tiger 10.4.6. This weekend, I am going to migrate to a new Intel mac with snow leopard. I am nervous about it going correctly for Eudora as it is my primary application of communication. Is there anything I should watch out for or do before/while I am using... more »

Extra step after reinstall
|
| |
I reinstalled my old Eudora 6.2 after a problem and have redone most of my desired defaults. However, one thing puzzles me. If I go to my OUT box and open an email to check its contents, and I try to close it, Eudora invariably now asks, "Do you want to save changes?" I have made no changes to the outgoing item of mail but I can only continue by... more »

Mailbox windows open small
|

I should have known better, but one cannot keep putting off OSX upgrades and security updates. :-( A week ago, I decided to catch up on all the updates for my iMac with Leopard. So I installed 10.5.8Combo and all others that Software Update showed as needed. Since then, whenever Eudora 6.2.4 opens a mailbox window, it appears at... more »

Reply w/ quoted text unselected
|
| |
I helped/persuaded a friend to switch from Win to Mac. He was using Eudora Win and set up his replies so that the cursor was at the top, followed by a blank line, followed by the quoted text _unselected_. This can be achieved on Win Eudora by the following: <x-Eudora-option:WhenReplyingT ypeBefore=1>... more »

corrupt mailbox
|
| |
Running Eudora 6.2.4 on Snow Leopard. I have just run into my first major issue. My inbox (local version of an IMAP inbox) has become corrupt. When I open a message what I get is fragments of an earlier message. I tried restoring from a Time Machine backup. That seems fine except that the dates of the messages are screwed up, with many of themproducing the... more »

Images inline or as attachments
|
| |
I received an email with a number of images as part of the body of the message. I forwarded it to a friend, and the images came up as attachments to the message I was sending. She would prefer them to be as part of the body and asked me to send it again that way. How do I do that?

It's baaaack....
|

Yesterday I again started getting that darned "No response from server" error message from Eudora (6.2.4) when I send queued messages. I went into Terminal and redid the command to add a certain IP address to the Mac OS X firewall list of blocked addresses, even though I did that months ago. I didn't get the... more »

In article <kneeljung-7267B6.14564523102. ..@news.eternal-september.org> , Dave ...Oddly, you have reduced the chances helping someone else by putting 'X-no-archive: yes' in your headers. (I use Google heavily to solve my computer technical problems with huge success. I am bemused by someone who puts up a very good post for the record and then cuts out 90% of... more »
