Subject: Does anything else do this?
One of the features of Eudora that I love the most is the fact that it
will open a window for any folder that has received a new message. This
means that I can tell instantly where new messages have gone and quickly
scan the subject lines to see if there is anything interesting or urgent.

This is especially useful for mailing lists, where there may be dozens
of messages each day, and I only read a few of them.

Most mail clients do nothing active to alert you of new messages. All
you get is a folder name bolded, and usually the number of unread
messages. Hopeless!

I have lots of folders for mailing lists, and most of the messages in
them are currently unread. With Eudora, at least I know when a new
message has arrived for one of them. For Mail, Thunderbird, etc, there
is no way to know short of marking all messages as read each time there
is a new message in a folder. Tedious!

So I am wondering whether there are any mail clients that will
automatically open a window on the folder when new messages arrive. Or
are we stuck with this dumbed down, multi-step, small screen model
forever :-(
