I've seen many contributions here to the problem I'm having, but none
of them really solves my problem.
I have many email adresses. I've entered all of my various settings in
Eudora. Everything is fine. Recently I bought a domain and the service
hosting the domain required me to check for the email associated with
the domain using pop3 port 1110 instead of port 110.
I know that using <x-eudora-setting:6820> can help me set the port to
1110. But all my other accounts are needing port 110 to work fine...
I'm looking for a way to set the port to 1110 before Eudora checks for
mail into that account... And eventually set it back to 110 after the
checking has been done.
In fact any solution that requires no intervention from me after
setting it is welcome.
I just don't want to set the port to 1110 to check my mail and have to
go back to 110 each time...
And don't suggest me to find another host !

This may work. In the mail server line within the personality, try
:1110 after it. So, it should look something like this:
my.lame.mailhost:1110

I tried this method by adding the port after the identification then
after the mail server but to no avail.
Thanks for proposing though, I wouldn't have thought of it otherwise.
So the challenge is still there... :/

I have put a plugin called Personality Ports at
<http://acorn.he.net/~gjb/download/persports.sit>.
Download, unstuff and drop in your Eudora Stuff folder within the
Eudora application folder and launch Eudora. You will now have a
setting under special:settings:personality ports. Select the
personality you need to change the pop port and enter 1110. That
should do the trick.
If not, I suggest trying to telnet to the server on port 1110 and
verify it is actually accepting connections.

You're a genious ! It works great ! I now wonder why Qualcomm never
really made such a plugin, and why it's not already included in their
email client ?
I wonder why I never came across this plugin (is it yours ?) by
searching for it on Google.
I will redistribute it to all macintosh users using the same host as I
do. This is a great plugin ! :o))

Yep, it was created for 4.2's smaller settings window. It works, live
with it.

I use it under 3.1.3 and it only shows up once :-)
Karl.

Correct. It should display correctly on any version earlier than 5.
