You are aware that "Eudora 8" isn't Eudora, but is Thunderbird?
Feature has been requested:

Allow displayed subject to be edited (editable Subject)"

I use it all the time with Thunderbird to change the subject line. I
would guess it also should work with Eudora 8.

What version of TB are you using?
Note that E8 is based on TB3 (not yet released),
and some extensions may not yet be compatible
(some old extensions may not even be compatible with TB2!)
When you "change the subject line,"
is it changing even in the opened message?
("Classic" Eudora changes only the copy of the subject
stored in the TOC component of the mailbox,
without modifying the actual message)

Hi Christopher. this add on is perfect for what i'm trying to do.
BUT, either it's not compatible (I have Eudora 8.0b7, which also says
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/
20090902 Eudora/3.0b3...
or I've saved it to the wrong place. I have my Euroda folder on my
desktop. Within the
Eudora folder there is an "Extras" but no "add ons".
any help would be appreciated as i'd love to get ths one working
thanks
tom
While the program is running, open the "Add-ons" window:
"Tools" > "Add-ons" (Extensions)
Too install an already-downloaded file (.xpi),
either click "Install" and locate the file,
or drag the file to the "Add-ons" window.

Re the TB Header Tools Extension:

To try this with "Eudora 8," you will have to try
the currently "experimental" plugin version for Thunderbird 3,
because "Eudora 8" is based on a (currently beta) version of TB3.
If the installation procedure says that any plugin is incompatible,
you will need an update of the plugin, if available.
There is no guarantee that even a plugin compatible with TB3
will work well with the modified "Eudora 8" -- everything is
experimental, including even "E8" with no plugins at all.
