First of all, thanks so much for supporting xHarbour. We had thousands
of xHarbour Builder demo downloads on xHarbour.com lately, together
with tons of feedback, and it's been encouraging, insightful, and
helpful. Thank you!
Reviewing all of your comments, we took a closer look at the demo
version of xHarbour Builder and magically ... found some room for
improvements! ;-)
For the Windows edition, we added latest version of Visual xHarbour to
the demo installer so you don't need to download Visual xHarbour
separately. Everything you need for Visual xHarbour is included in the
demo. Samples, the Visual xHarbour IDE, and more... Yes, "MORE"... ;-)
We also added our first draft of the Visual xHarbour Getting Started
manual. Many users asked us to provide some documentation on Visual
xHarbour, even if it wasn't finished. Well, here it is, not finished,
but it's a start. This is also your chance to give us feedback on these
doc's now while we're still working on them! ;-)
Next, by popular demand, we included the command version of xBuilder
namely xBuild.exe. The GUI version is also still included.
For the Windows and Linux installer, a new fixed and updated version of
the Visual xDebugger has also been added.
Now ... What about documentation on the xHarbour language itself in the
demo version? Well, it's obvious that, when a user downloads a demo
version of a programming language, he/she needs some documentation on
the language itself, no? Exactly, just what we thought! So, we included
the full version of the xHarbour Language Reference Guide in the demo
installer (the .CHM edition for the Windows installer, and the .PDF
edition for the Linux installer).
This makes the demo version of xHarbour Builder so much more complete!
Don't you think?
Now, who would be better to comment on the new xHarbour Builder demo
than YOU? Please take the time to download it and let us know what you
think. What can be be improved? How smooth was the installation? What
about the documentation? Etc. The more feedback, the better demo we can
build it next time for you guys!
To make it easy for you, here is a direct link to the new demo:

Thank you so much in advance for your feedback.
And if you've already bought xHarbour.com's xHarbour Builder: you rock
supreme!!
Start that download NOW guys! ;-)

From all of us at xHarbour.com
THANK YOU!
Could you please list DEMO-related restrictions and/or limitations of
the enhanced package? How exactly is each component different from
its full counterpart?
TIA, Eugene

The only restriction is a startup message in your build application
saying it was build using xHarbour Builder's demo version.
Also, when you start Visual xHarbour, xBuild or Visual xDebugger, they
also have a startup message saying they are the demo version of the
real thing.
The demo edition includes dummy versions of these libs:
ActiveX, Comm, CT3Comm, Ole, OleServer and RMDBFCDX.

Thank you very much for the clarification. One more question though.

Is it a 1.0 version?
TIA, Eugene
No, latest version1.1

Patrick, Ron, et all
I downloaded and installed your new xHarbour Builder Demo. It's a very
impressive demo. A well deserved congratulation is in order. I have gone
through the first 5 chapters of your Getting Started Guide and it's also
quite polished even at this point.
Thinking like a cheapskate, according to this I can get the
full and complete documentation included with the free demo.
Many of us jumped in an were happy to pay $49USD for the new
docs.
When is the next stable release of xHarbour Builder and
Visual xHarour due to be published?
Thanks, and keep up the good work

Thank you very much for your kind words.
Lets not forget this is a team effort, so, thanks goes to the whole
xHarbour.org and xHarbour.com group!

Yes, it's true. But, if your a going to use the xHarbour Language
Reference Guide as a helping tool for building commercial apps, your
are still invited to buy the offline PDF or CHM file from
http://www.xHarbour.com/OrderDocs
We all know what it takes to write a +2.000 pages guide. We are all
programers, we are all made from the same wood, so, I'm confident
people will still buy the guide.

We are waiting for some fixes on the xHarbour core compiler before we
release. For sure we will release ASAP.
