expect debugger 'w' triggered segmentation fault

just bought the expect book and is learning the debugger...
is the expect debugger still working?
whenever I press w it coredumped, this is constantly reproducible.
ping@ubuntu1404:~/temp$ expect -D 1 test.tcl

proc myfunc {param1} {

0: expect {-D} {1} {test.tcl}
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
