Hi all,

Is there a problem cloning the tcl repository? I am getting an error

The current fossil is up to version 2.5
https://fossil-scm.org/index.html/uv/download.html

It's probably worth a try rather than looking into a bug in an old,
obsolete version of fossil.

I will try to upgrade to Fedora 28...

We did encounter a bug a few weeks ago that required us to update to the
current build of Fossil. 'fossil version' reports that I'm using 2.6,
which works for me. I used the build from fossil-scm.org

??

There's a linux binary on the download page. Personally, I'd give that a
try first. It's also not particularly difficult to compile it -- I do it
on windows but for unix it's much easier.

Yes, I know, but I am trying to force myself in using the packages
provided by the operating system :-)

Hello George,

iirc fedore is some linux derivate. Why not get the linux executable from sqlite.org, put it in your user and call it explicit like "./fossil ...."

I have no answer for this question really :-)
This is what I have been doing for years now.
Somehow, I feel that it is better to have some "buzz" about fossil in
Fedora, to trigger a proper update. I thing it will add a small piece to
fossil's visibility.

I have asked how can I trigger an update. I didn't understand the answer
(I have to find out about "Pagure"). But at least, the versions are
monitored correctly:

https://release-monitoring.org/project/13971/

BTW, tcl seems to still rely on sourceforge:

https://release-monitoring.org/project/4941/

And Tk has a "custom" backend (fossil?)

https://release-monitoring.org/project/11426/
