The current issue of Make magazine has a project which combines an RFID
reader with a conveyor belt (doesn't everyone have one?), and has a
favourable sidebar mention of Tcl/Tk. Not a big deal, but I thought I'd
bring it to your attention ...

Ahh, yes, Make Magazine has a digital sub as well as a paper sub, so the
only thing I can find which resembles a publicly accessible link to the
article are the resources:

http://makezine.com/15/build_notes/

I fear that unless you are a paid subscriber, the link will not get you to
the text ... though the build notes do have a link to ActiveTcl, and give
the .tcl source file for the project ... sorry.

Rob.

Hi Rob,
no reason to be sorry - thanks for checking.

I was able to see the relevant bits from this link:

This package "tracker" contains a tcl-script for the GUI
and it's not even an old relict, as it even uses some
ttl::-namespaced widgets, without package-require'ing
tile, so it seems to assume at least some >=8.5 version
of "/usr/bin/wish" to be installed :-)

The history being that the script was swiftly rewritten into PyGtk.
C'est la vie.

We'll survive. Seeing OS gurus come to Tcl only for Tk was frustrating
anyway ;-)
