I have large, legacy Tcl application, running in windows. I want to
connect it to Sybase (ASE, 12.5) via the open client. I'd like to use
sybtcl since we use it a lot in Unix/Linux world. Using Sybtcl I am
able to connect but tcl crashes when trying to do anything. I believe
it must be an incompatibility with the open client version I am
running on the pc - 12.5. I've searched around and I see that sybtcl
isn't kept up to date anymore. Does anyone have any other ideas for
me? Is there anyway to make sybtcl work with 12.5? I thought about
ODBC, but heard it is too slow..(dunno if that is true).. converting
from tcl to perl or something is really not an option. read about
"freetds" but not sure how to make that work..
thanks for any help or suggestions..
