So many times, I have read announcements by various people here on
comp.lang.tcl and wished to hear them talk a bit about their work -
whether on a relational algrebra extension for tcl, or new gui
widgets, or a nifty application debugger, etc.

What a great opportunity the community has to set up to attend this
workshop/convention, to get together, to go over the new features of
Tcl/Tk 8.5, and to talk about what happens next!

If you've ever written Tcl/Tk code, if you've ever grumbled about the
state of doc or code, ever wished for a code repository, or clammered
for better visibility for tcl - here's your chance! Prepare a
presentation, pass the call for abstracts along to your favorite tcl
hangouts (well, assuming that it hasn't already appeared there!), and
write up some proposals! Submit several ideas of things on which you
could talk - you'll get feedback on which ones sound interesting.

There was some disucsion on the wiki about the conference being in New
Jersey and I'd have tried to drive down for that but I can't get to
NO. Oh, well.

As long as you do not attempt to deal drugs in "someone else's turf" you
should be safe.

The conference is in a full service hotel in the French Quarter -- you can
take a cab from the airport before the conference, never leave the hotel and
take a cab back to the airport after the conference. You should be at least
as safe as in your house (maybe more).

I don't think I'd have a very easy time of driving either, unless
someone loans me a Bisque Submarine.

The conference moves from city to city every year. The accommodations in NJ
feel through for this year.

Good thing there's an airport... :-)

Donal (planning to fly transoceanic for it, so you North Americans
have no room for complaint!)

I sent a mail to the address listed in that webpage (
tcl...@tcl.tk). I got a "550: No such account" failed delivery
report for my email. Is there an alternate email I can contact?

TIA,

I think they are working on the email problem. As you may have
noticed, the
web page is still under construction. I would think in the next
couple of
days the email address will be working.
