A company I am currently engaged with here in Sydney is looking for an experienced Smalltalker to work in their Sydney office. They are willing to sponsor someone on a work visa.
The role would be that of a senior member of a small Smalltalk development team who can bring experience to the team and act as a mentor. The current Smalltalk dialect is VSE, but there is a desire to move the system to a more current dialect. The Smalltalk system forms a part of a product which is in wide use in governments and industry around the world. Travel is not envisaged as a part of this role, however.
I can't comment on salary or any other details of the package, but I can pass your details along to the company.
Of course, I'd like to suggest that you get your resume up to date in the OpenSkills SkillsBase so I can just pass a SkillsBase link along, but I won't insist on that :-)
So, if you have Smalltalk experience and think you would enjoy a move to Sydney (just as we move into summer, BTW!) send along a summary (think cover letter) and contact details and I'll pass them along to the decision makers who will contact you to move things along. Please use bwbadger at gmail dot com when sending your details.
