sxml: archived in the industy or currency?

I am new to scheme and xml technologies. can someone advise me on the state
of the industry, especially web developement where it concerns sxml (scheme
xml)? will really be grateful to anyone who can advice me to follow that
path or not?
I think with its closure property on trees, sxml would make my web
development state of the arts. Does anyone think otherwise?
