I just wanted to know what was happening with the efforts to build a
new layout for www.ruby-lang.org?
Vincent.
I was just wondering about that myself. I really enjoyed
the mockups: http://redhanded.hobix.com/redesign2005/

It hasn't disappeared. There has been sporadic progress over the past few
months. The visual design was set and the recent efforts have been on
implementing the design and populating it with initial content.
Its a lot of work, and the volunteers doing the work (Why, John Long, Ben
Giddings, and Michel Martens) all have day jobs as well as being incredibly
involved in the Ruby community. I know that from the outside it just looks
like nothing is happen, but please be patient.
It'd be nice to be able to show something so you can see how its all
progressing. But that probably won't happen until after RubyConf.

Can I do something to help ? I am learning rails fastly and want to
spend some time helping the community.
Also what does Matz think about the new design ? I think it's vital
that he agree on what impression the website gives of his language.
Cheers,

Not at the moment. At some point some help may be needed to create content.

Matz was the one who originally got it started by asking for someone to
step-up and volunteer to do it after a series of complaints about the
current design.
