Folks:

Just a quick note to say Chris Pine's new book, Learn to Program, is
now available and shipping.

If you want to get started in Ruby, or if you have a friend who just
plain wants to know what it is that you do, I'd recommend it--it's a
light read that covers all the basics. The book's home page is

http://www.pragmaticprogrammer.com/titles/fr_ltp/

Thanks

Dave

There is an online version of this book at
http://pine.fm/LearnToProgram/.
Is the treeware version different than the online one?

Yes.

Check out the site Dave posted; there's a sample chapter available so you
can see what it's like. It looks good. (Not that the original online
tutorial version isn't, but better than that.)

Cheers,
Dave
