I'm trying to migrate my website from a 32-bit Windows machine to my new
64-bit Linux machine. Unfortunately, the only version of mod_rexx I can
find was compiled for 32-bit and it fails to load on my new machine.

I wrote to the author, W. David Ashley, about this, but his Sourceforge
page hasn't been updated since 2004. I don't even know if his us.ibm.com
E-Mail address is still valid eight years later.

I tried compiling it from his source following the directions on his
page, but that failed too with a bunch of gobbeldy-gook that
(unfortunately) means nothing to me.

Can anyone help?

David's address should be ok. He hasn't moved.

I can't say, but he's an active developer of ooREXX, which is hosted at SF.
I could send you his private email address (as used on the ooREXX mail
lists) but I'm not going to post it here and your news post has no valid
reply address as far as I can tell.

Email sent to my from-address will be deleted. Instead, please reply
to newsre...@wingsandbeaks.org.uk replacing "aaa" by "284".

I'm easy enough to find on the webpage linked right below my name in the
signature below...

Thanks. Since that is a "work address" I don't expect to hear anything
back immediately.

Ah, but why should I have to go looking for info that, until you said this,
I did not know was present?

In most of the newsgroups I use people either post with a munged address but
provide instructions in their sig, or have no obvious way to contact them at
all.

Sorry, just don't know how "smart" these newsgroup bots have gotten. :-)

I heard back from Dave and I'm SOL. I've just converted my mod_rexx
pages to use the CGI interface and I'm good.

Thanks!
