Given Robin's lackof appropriate response, I have just sent the following to
theMicro Focus legal department. When (if) Ihear anything on this, I will
post it to this newsgroup - as I doubt that Robin will.)

To: Micro Focus legal department

Re: "Micro Focus" as a trademark

The PL/I "frequently asked question" (FAQ) available online from the
comp.lang.pl1 Usenet Newsgroup or from:

http://www.faqs.org/faqs/computer-lang/pli-faq/

or

http://home.roadrunner.com/~pflass/mirrors/robin_v/pli_faq.htm

uses the single word "MicroFocus" when referring to the company and/or its
products. The author has (repeatedly) been told that the correct
trademarked name is "Micro Focus". Not only has the author REFUSED to
change the FAQ, but he has also publicly (in comp.lang.pl1) stated that
"Micro Focus" cannot be (nor is it) a valid trademark. The author should be
reachable via the comp.lang.pl1 newsgroup or at:

rob...@bigpond.com

Obviously, it is up to you (The Micro Focus legal department) what actions
you will (or should) take about the PL/I FAQ. However, I would strongly
suggest that you take appropriate action to correct the misinformation that
Robin Vowels is posting concerning the validity of "Micro Focus" as a trade
mark.

Please feel free to contact me if you need additional information on what
and where this misinformation and misuse of your trademark occurs.

Klein, you are a liar.
"Microfocus" is not used in the FAQ in this newsgroup.

As usual, Robin replies by "snipping"supporting ifnormation. In this case,
he has snipped the two online references given in the original note, i.e.:

http://www.faqs.org/faqs/computer-lang/pli-faq/

and

http://home.roadrunner.com/~pflass/mirrors/robin_v/pli_faq.htm

See the text,
"Microfocus Open PL/I, for Intel running Windows XP, 2000, Me/98. Comes
with ..."

Those web sites SEEM to "have yoru blessings". Are you now dis-avoig them?

* * * *

The post from YOU date/time stamped

Friday, November 06, 2009 11:17 PM
to this newsgroups includes the following text,

"MicroFocus offers tools to accompany PL/I for OS/2 ..."

* * * * *

Others may find it "amusing" that rather than admit you were wrong and FIX
the name of the company and copiler, you have now removed references to
"Open PL/I". If you want curent information on this "Micro Focus" (not
"MicroFocus") product, check out
http://www.microfocus.com/products/OpenPLI/index.asp

The FAQ seems to think that Liant still exists.

Before replying to your post, I downl;oaded the most recent
posting of the FAQ (7 November) in this newsgroup.
As I reported, it has no reference to Micro Focus at all.
That post has been in the FAQ archives snce October.

That's what proves you to be a liar.

The post that you reference at:

is obsolete, and is dated November 2008. That's ONE YEAR AGO.

But that makes you still a liar, and a clown to boot.

And, unless you work for "Micro%$%Focus", you seem to be obesssing a bit

I don't particularly care about the "Micro Focus" issue. What I care
about is Robin Vowel's manifest descent into madness -- or worse.

John W. Kennedy
"If he had ever hated Sir Aston because of a passion for austere truth,
he might even then have laid hold on the thing that was abroad in the
world and been saved. If he had been hopelessly wrong in his facts and
yet believed them so, and believed they were important in themselves, he
might have felt a touch of the fire in which the Marian martyr had gone
to his glory, and still been saved. In the world of the suicides,
physical or spiritual, he might have heard another voice than his and
seen another face. He looked at Sir Aston and thought, not 'He was
wrong in his facts', but 'I've been cheated'. It was his last
consecutive thought."

Telstra deleted my web site because of their incompetence. [They subsequently restored it.
I suspected at that time that their archive was an old copy.]
Somewhere around that time, the mirror site was created.
It's quite likely that some files did not get updated when I updated
my web site. The mirror site will be updated in due course.
It's a big job.

As I said in an earlier post in this thread, your first "faqs" reference is
dated November 2008, which is a year out-of-date.

Robin,
Have you yet looked at the FAQ as posted to comp.lang.pl1 in November of
2009 (not 2008). If so, you would find the string "microfocus".

You are wrong, you refuse to admit it; and you have erroneously called me a
liar.

* * *

NOTE:
The entire FAQ from November 2009 was part of my original note to which
Robin is replying. Had he NOT deleted the text, everyone else could find
the same string in the text and see exaclty how WRONG Robin is/was (and
continues to be).

You just can't help yourself, can you!
You are lying again.
Your original note referred to gave a URL.
Your post did not contain the entire FAQ.

| Had he NOT deleted the text,

You are a blatant and shameful LIAR. I did NOT delete the text.
It was NOT there in the first place.

As to your ravings about Microfocus, do you deny
that you have posted material in comp.lang.cobol and elsewhere
under headings incoroporating the words "microfocus"
and "Microfocus", and do you deny that other posts in comp.lang.cobol
and elsewhere have used the words microfocus and Microfocus
and that you have not posted anything about the use of such words?

You are a LIAR. There is no string "microfocus".
And I was not erroneous in calling you a liar, for that is what
you are.

Do you know what a liar is? Its a person who make a false
statement KNOWING that it is a false statement.

And since you are continuing to lie, you should look up the
definition of a pathalogical liar, for that is what you have
proved youself to be.

No, but there is a string "Microfocus" in the FAQs that you posted
2009-10-29 and 2009-11-07, both of which are internally dated:

Last-Modified: 28 October 2009
Version: 1.7

Anyone who knows how to use Google Groups can establish this, and will
be able to do so for many years to come. This infantile quibbling over
the capitalization of one letter when either version is wrong to begin
with is beneath even you. The correct form is "Micro Focus"; fix the FAQ
and get on with your life -- and ours.

Poor Bogin. He can't even tell which thread he is replying to. My note
that included the URL's had one subject line. The original note in the
thrad he refers to here had a separate subject line. As it was JUST a
repots of the FAQ that he posted, that was the subjerct of that post.

I will repost (one more time) the November 2009 FAQ posting that includes
the string "microfocus".

P.S. I do love watching other groups where Robin is held in "equal" respect
for his inability to admit errors. Please contact me off-list if you want
additional references.

NOTE:
As usual Robin had NOT included the text that I included that WAS the FAQ
as posted in Nov 2009. (Should anyojne care, the actual string was
"MicroFocus" and not "microfocus". If the capitalization confused Robin, I
apologize tfor that.
The string can easily be found in the (yet again) posted FAQ from Nov 2009.
