I am involved in a user interface project aiming to integrate a core
application and few automated utilities written in TCL. I thought Tk
would be a preferred platform, because of its binding with TCL and
the core application which is majorly driven by C. The UI to be built
needs to have proper grouping and tagging options, Color gradient
visualization, Easy drag drop, Transformation of co-ordinates w.r.to
objects, Translation of co-ordinates, Zoom in /Zoom out, panning and
overall good in terms of scalability. I am thinking of two options to
go with, Tk Zinc or Latest version of Tk8.5, I would like to hear
about the limitations / advantages regarding the implementation scope,
usage flexibility and support. Expecting few thoughts on the same.

Swamy.
Tk::Zinc canvas is far superior to the default canvas in Tk, and it supports Open GL.
It is particularly useful when you are using transparent fonts, backgrounds, etc..
