Problem with VP on W7-64

Hi all,
Since a few weeks I've got a W7-64 Pro system and given that this allowed me to download M$ Virtual PC (and Oracle's VirtualBox), and that the problem I'm having is minor, I can live with it, well, sort of.

FPC - trying again :(

Although I'm quite happy using Virtual Pascal, I've decided to give FPC (on W32) another try and, again, I'm not a very happy bunny.
I've got a program that compiles and runs cleanly in VP, yet it fails miserably in VP, and the unpleasant thing is that running it in the IDE gives me a
