I havn't used Turbo Pascal in many years. Now I write all my code in
FreePascal and have not had any problems with it.

If running in win98 mode doesn't help (right mouse on the .exe and then
properties and searching for compat mode settings), maybe it is time to
migrate to something more recent than over 15 years old:-)

Besides the "migrate to newer product" suggestions (hey, I use UCSD Pascal
IV.0), I'd suggest downloading a copy of "dosbox", and running it under
there.
At least until you get it developed, then you can try moving the executable
to XP. Try it with something simple first. But at least this should get your
debugger running.
Good luck!
TP 1.5 is afaik a Windows (3.x) version.

Posts on the Dosbox forum (http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewtopic.php?t=9405)
seem to indicate it is capable of Windows 3.x
I know that, but that will require an additional win3.x license.

Well, if the OP is running this under Win 3.x, then why could the OP not
install it under DOSBox. You wouldn't need an additional license for the
same box?
Anyway, I did NOT realize TP 1.5 was a Windows version, nor would I think
installing Win 3.x under DOSBox would be an easy task, since it isn't a real
DOS. Maybe I'm wrong.
If he is yes. He might be running it under w9x. And personally I think that
chance is higher.

And I wouldn't even bet on that.
Possibly (do you have a reference for that?), but that one, if it exists
never comes up here.
Moreover, the OP mentioned 16-bit driver and "pointing device" problems, so
I doubt it is really a that old version.
Man, that sounds like the business I'd like
to have, and I seriously wonder in these
times of easily found torrents and such why
or even IF people actually pay for that.
Oh, and did anyone else notice that, even
with Delphi, Pascal seems to be like Latin
nowadays. Seems to be dying, and I only
see like a dozen posts in the last couple of
months even here...
Strange.
It's usually for business use that want to be license compliant, not for
students. Typically they are also full licenses, not educational versions.

Or they moved to other forms of communication of course.
Useless.
