I might be missing the obvious, but how are these two command
differentiated if the programmer is using the "cryptic" version of the
commands?

[KSB] Halt has no arguments.

The difference between a Hang and a Halt is whether you use it with a
parameter:

H 5 ; Will hang for 5 seconds
H ; will halt out of your session.
