this is a common misconception.  the market does in fact not lead anything
or anywhere.  the market _follows_ in the footsteps of designers, creators,
producers, and other trend setters.  the market is also not a force, but a
momentum of the successful application of _creative_ forces.  for some odd
reason, lots of people think the market is something more than a measuring
device on the activity of a large number of people.  the market per se has
no will, no strength, no future, no direction, except insofar as those who
lead people to buy something continue to lead them to buy it in the future,
and are not successfully contested by other leaders to buy something else.
