Well, Korns Associates is doing just that. They have a stock-picking program
that has out-performed the market and the money managers for three years of
live trading, without incurring large risks (i.e., a balanced, risk-averse
fund). It's written in an agent-oriented flavor of Lisp called SmartLisp, and
