4.36 How do I modify the current browser window?
http://jibbering.com/faq/#FAQ4_36

"You can use window.resizeTo or window.moveTo to resize or move a window
respectively, but that is it."

I would add that resizeTo and moveTo are methods entirely under user
control for Firefox users, Opera users, Seamonkey users, K-meleon users
(and also most likely Icab users and Safari users).

"Normally you can only suggest chrome changes in a window.open"
This sentence suggests that the "current browser window" is a secondary
window. I would remove that sentence.
