Congratulations. Now you can look forward to a lifetime of "Doctor,
I've got this pain in the diodes down my left hand side..." :)

Congrats! :-)
Let me know if you want to make any changes to
<http://home.earthlink.net/~patricia_shanahan/beginner.html>
to reflect the new status. ;)
That page has been a bit more referenced around
the Sun forums recently, so it's still very
relevant to those who are just starting out -
as well as more experienced programmers who just
get stuck.
(Might be good to fix that 'sutudent' spelling
mistake I probably introduced into the document,
as well..)

Now that I have some more time, I plan to review my personal web pages
and add some material. I'll try to fix spelling mistakes, and possibly
improve the wording - I've learned a bit about writing in producing
academic papers and my dissertation.

what was your thesis topic?
"Machine Learning for Context-Aware Reminders and Suggestions".
I plan to put a copy of the dissertation on my web site, but I want to
reformat it first. The official version is double spaced, with wide margins.
Patricia
Surely, to prevent any "Fermat's own proof" repetitions in future :-)
Congratulations Patricia! I hope to follow in your footsteps one day.
You have made a very valuable contribution to these groups and I for one
really appreciate that.

That sounds interesting.

We'll eagerly wait for the publication. Hopefully I find the time to
digest it... :-)
Kind regards

Much belated -- in Web time -- but let me add my congratulations!

Wow !!! :-))) Accept my sincere congratulations.
CONGRATULATIONS!! (Normally all-upper-case and multiple
exclamation points would be excessive. But for some news they
seem just right. The last stages of the PhD process can be
nerve-racking -- IME anyway.)
So, Dr. Shanahan [*], what's next?
[*] Are you accustomed yet to being called this? :-)

be too busy now to visit c.l.j.p in the future.
