I have UnixODBC installed on my Mandriva 2008, of late I cannot seem
to start ODBCconfig-root, when i run it via terminal i get the root
pass dialog but then it dies giving me this error...

ODBCConfig-root: symbol lookup error: ODBCConfig-root: undefined
symbol: ODBCINSTSQLManageDataSources
Can someone help me through this?

Don't use ODBC. Connect with JDBC; it suits Java much better.
