Return two arrays

I've been having some problems returning two arrays in which each contains an image of 1024x1024. I have to return these two images from a function but I haven't been able to get it to work properly. Does anybody know how to do this in a smart way? Thanks, Frank

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could give me a quick tutorial about how to debug C code called from CALL_EXTERNAL. I know many people have recommended the "Calling C and C++ from IDL" book, and it sounds like it would be very informative, but I can't justify spending $50 for a book that I would probably only use once.... more »

Viewing a plot under bash?

Hi all, I am using a binary file which has nothing to do with IDL to generate results of simulation. After the simulation is done, I would like to view them using IDL. However, I am just too lazy to key in things like: (idl readcol, blahblah plot, blahblah...) each time I run the simulation binary file.... more »

Hi, all. PS_START/PS_END is a very useful program in Coyote Program Library. But I have some troubles to use PS_END to convert ps file to another type. I have installed ImageMagick and the command COVERT is avaible when I test it in system. My OS is vista and the version of IDL is 7.0. IDL slow to load command prompt

Hello, When I type idl at the command line it takes about 20 seconds for the IDL> prompt to come up. Is this just a problem with the computer? Or is there something I can do to speed this up? It is IDL Version 6.2 (linux x86 m32). Thanks! Leila

Hello, I have a big application running on many platform. When a bug appears, it's possible to read the error message under Linux. But, in Windows IDL Virtual Machine, in case of bug, the application crashs sometimes without any message.
