You have to understand that the limit is a lower limit, not an upper one.
Any standard compiler MUST accept lines 132c long. There will obviously
be some upper limit, since I cannot imagine the standard stating:
Whatever arbitrary large number N, the system shall accept input lines
of at least N+1 characters. It would then be easy to sue vendors ;-)

The present standard garanties that this limit is not going to be less
than 132c with any vendor, and as a user, this is what I want.
