As someone that is not familiar with EuroForth's Proceedings, how much
pull do they have in affecting the course of the Forth community? Or are
they merely outlets for people to voice their ideas on subjects related
to Forth.
I briefly looked at the adding Lambda Expressions to Forth article, and
to me it looks interesting at first glance.

The lack of interest on the conference speaks volumes and answers my
question.
Perhaps it was the wrong question.
As an attendee for the first time at the 2006 EuroForth conference, I
found it very interesting and useful. Note that I attended as an
amateur, and not a professional developer of Forth code and systems.
EuroForth doesn't attempt (imho) any more than communicating ideas and
generating discussion on a variety of Forth subjects. Beyond this, and
the positive aspect of meeting others with the same interest, it
doesn't have any "pull" on the Forth community per se; it does not
stand guard for any particular aspect of Forth.
On the other hand, the Forth 200x group, that co-incidentally meets
before EuroForths as a matter of convenience, may have significant
influence on the future development of the ANS Forth standard. But
whether that is important to you or not depends on your interest in
Forth, and the applicability of a standard to what you wish to do.

From the papers a lot of good subjects were discussed but I'm mystified
by the apparent lack of interest in the subjects. I guess Forth is a
tool that attracts the kind of programmer that wants their tools to be
just so, and somebody else's way will not do.
And how exactly are you gauging the level of interest in the subjects of the
EuroForth 2006 papers?

By the only thing I can see, the lack of comments on the subjects, but
the discussion on sometimes trivial thing get hundreds of comments.

That's a poor barometer, and an equally poor basis for sweeping
generalizations about all Forth programmers.
Your use of two posting nyms is confusing; please stop this practise.
There may or may not be a great deal of interest in the subjects; time
will tell. The papers have just been published online and announced
here no more thank two weeks ago. This (as you or your alter-ego noted)
allowed you to do no more than briefly read the paper on lambda
calculus. If you have a specific interest and some cogent comments, why
not start the ball rolling?
