Clipper - Harbour programmer Switzerland

Hello
I am alone on a clipper project used by a small company. I'm looking around if they other
Programmer who have know how in dbase/clipper/harbour language.

I'm near Bern. I speak French and Swiss-German.

und ich, glaube ich bin der letzte echte Clipper-Programmierer in
Deutschland (Großraum München)
im Moment allerdings eher mit Ambitionen zu DotNet und Vulcan als zu
Harbour.

Was ist das für eine Clipper-Anwendung und was ist das Problem, ausser, daß
Du der einzige Betreuer der Anwendung bist ?

Hi,

der Glaube trügt.

Wir supporten noch 3 größere Anwendungen von uns bei Kunden in Clipper,
die auch häufig angepaßt werden (u.a. bei jeder Ernte ....)

Letzte Fehlermeldung war 1996
"Bunt und im Web brauchen wir nicht"

Ich bin sicher, da schlummern noch etliche Anwendungen ....

Hallo ihr,

ja, da ist schon noch Einiges in freier Wildbahn, aber es wird weniger.
Neulich ist mein letztes Clipper-Programm ausrangiert und durch den in
FoxPro geschriebenen Nachfolger ersetzt worden.

Yes, there are some applications around in the wild, but they are becoming
less and less. Some time ago my last Clipper application was uninstalled and
replaced by its FoxPro successor.

Vulcan ??

For FoxPro-Programmers, I think the best way is Vulcan, but at this time its
hard to go to, if there is no VO experience, because the Vulcan
documentation is not complete yet and requires much VO knowledge.

Ooops never realised there were quite a lot of Clipper'heads in Switz.
I was there a month ago for a training at a Telecom-billing company,
nexus. Was close to Zurich for 10 days. Wished to meet-up you guys :((

I not from Switzerland.
Turan (formerly Clipper, now Foxpro) and I (Clipper und now learning Vulcan)

Probably I am going to settle for a mainstream language, perhaps C# or
Visual Basic. For the moment I am still bus

The market for VO and Vulcan is just too small.

The trouble with M$ you have to install MB of Software and you never stop with updates....
And if something do not work you loose many hours to find the solution.
I think Harbour / xHarbour will be a good way for myself.
