Hey,

Wanted to let everyone know that I out of the hospital and am at home. They
will let me go back to work in about two weeks but not back to teaching dogs
for another 4 to 6 weeks. I am on a no bending and no lifting more than 10
pounds restriction.

Regards,
Willie

Limited to 2 bugs a day and 20 new lines of code or 3 compiles.

Get well.

Hey Willie

Glad to have you back, and take it easy for next few weeks.

Now that I have you in the radar, I downloaded Vulcan this week to give
it a try again, after 2 years from Version 1.0.

I am just repeating here what I said to Brian, I am looking to create
web applications, not Dot Net apps. Not looking to port my application
from Windows VO 2.8 to Dot Net.

Brian told me that you have done something like this, and that Vulcan
2.0 can do this also.

Can you explain here, if you have some time.

Regards

Jose,

I am doing better today that I was yesterday. I think that I did overdo it
and my body shut me down. All I did was sit in my chair instead of my bed
for 3 hours and take 2 20 minute drive to get my girl t and from drama
practice. By the time dinner time came along, I took the family out for a
birthday dinner for my now 15 year old. I didn’t even make it through dinner
and had to go back to bed.

It is very easy to do web apps in Vulcan.net. I would be happy to work with
you on it. I keep my business logic in a separate dll that I use WCF to wrap
the dll. WCF is MS's latest technology to allow code to be used via multiple
front ends. Wether you use Vulcan for your web GUI depends on how you want
to deploy your application. Vulcan code cannot be JITed at runtime so you
can to pre-compile your web site. BUT if you keep your business logic
compiled as a WCF component, it doesn’t matter what the GUI is done in. A
lot of my GUI is done in vb.net. All of my Windows phone GUI is c# or vb.net
calling a WCF component that does the hard work (all in Vulcan.net)

Martin,

I have been teaching dog obedience for 20 years. It is a way that I relieve
stress. In addition to teaching, I complete in obedience, flyball, and sheep
herding with my border collies. My Pomeranian does flyball. Working with
livestock is how I originally messed up my back. I didn’t give the dog the
proper command and he drove the sheep over my back. He then looked back at
me as if I was stupid as he completed the course without me. BTW I did pass
the trial because the dog took the sheep through the drive panel properly
and then held them at the pen till I arrived to finish.

Good you are recovering. Richard, are you really retiring that soon?
That means I am not going to meet you later this week on Devcon?
