Hi All
We have a potential client with about 1000 selling points/oulets
spread all over South Africa. The head office will be in Cape Town
(south western tip of Africa) which meeans that more than 75 % of the
outlets will be hundrerds or even thousands of miles away.
They will have clients turning up at these outlets wanting to by goods
on credit. These clients will have to be validated/graded before
allowed to purchase anything. They insist that validation must take
place at head office and they want a very fast response time.
Taking costs into consideration, we cannot have a dailpup from outlet
to head office with every application - so will have to be a web based
solution of some sort. As we pay for local calls even a dailup to a
local POP will cost money but that is unavoidable.
Have you any suggestions of how to go about it the most cost effective
way. I suppose there will be a Clarion app on the head office
fileserver that will receive the queries from these outlets from
across the country. We do not have time zones here and I suppose that
all of these outlets, with maybe one or two exceptions, will be open
for business from say 9:00 to 17:00 or similar times. All of the data
captured for this validation must be stored at head office permanently
and this will typically be Surname, Full Names, Initials, Date Of
Birth, ID Number, Home and Postal Addresses, Phone and Fax numbers,
Martital status and how long, How long at present address, employer.
etc.etc.
I suppose I will be hearing from Steve Parker as well<g>
