It's a free download and work well. I use it to replicate VM's to my
NAS and / or the host mapped drive. It can do one folder at a time and
include sub folders. You can set it up to run multiple jobs at one
time as well.
I've got C6.3 working off the host drive but not C55. C55 Install
filters out anything but a real hard drive.
I've played with a lot of the networking stuff and using permissions,
shares, and mapped drives works well. Should you want to get most
artistic you could get the sysinternals Junction tool. It's a pretty
cool tool but can serious wrap you up around a tree so it's something
you need to plan out and use a bit before getting into too deep.
Compound Junctions can become a serious problem. It's why they don't
just add the ability to Explorer. I would advise against doing
Junction changes on the fly to make a variable network. One error and
you really are in trouble.
Win7 Libraries are another tool worth using as well. If you take a
gentle mix of the above there is a lot you can do.
Things I still can't do:
Resetting the VMware NIC interface toy allow Jumbo Packets. Just
setting the device attribute in the VM Device Manager is not enough.
It would require a setting on the Virtual adapter as well. I find
Jumbo packets on the NAS boosted the speed on large transfers 25% over
a Gigabit network.
