i think it is easy have type of size 2^n if the machine
has the carry flag and a type 2^n
even the 186 and 286 16 bit cpu can implement all that
efficently ...
even cpu that has only registers 8 bit can implement
all these efficently

example one cpu has only registers 16 bit, problems for the type
