Also if this is moderated why do posts selling junk still appear (at
least in google groups)?
[because Google doesn't really handle moderation very well -- you can push
stuff out in the group even if it's not approved. -mod]

comp.lang.c.moderated - moderation address: cl...@plethora.net -- you must
have an appropriate newsgroups line in your header for your mail to be seen,
or the newsgroup name in square brackets in the subject line. Sorry.
It would indeed, and my posts have the regrettable appearance of being
a sort of Christmas bombing of the site, like Nixon's 1972 bombing of
Hanoi.
However, the reason why this site is garbage is the behavior of its
moderator Peter Seebach, which I am trying to change. Not only does he
fail to remove the posts selling junk, he also allows posts to be made
that harm innocent parties and posts with maliciously false claims. He
claims to be a sort of hip, post-modern and tolerant moderator who
approves most posts because he's a cool guy with a fashionable
disease, but at other times he talks as if he exercises judgement.
When people send him email to try to clear things up, he deletes it
unread owing to a basic lack of social skills. While we're supposed to
have compassion for his fashionable diseases and lifestyles, he also
labels people as "morons", which is just about as Politically
Incorrect as labeling people "faggots".
As a member of the peace and love generation, I have seen too many
people pushed around because they won't defend themselves, and I
defend myself and others in a reality-based way. I believe that in so
doing I can make this and other newsgroups more useful.

Peter, I find that hard to credit. Even if it is true, you as
moderator can delete it, right? And since you're an expert script
kiddie who's written a book on scripting, you could automate the
delete, right?. Just catalog the common phrases or patterns in regular
expressions. Piece of cake.
No, YOU don't handle moderation very well, Petey.

You have clearly shown that you do not understand the difference between
Usenet and the web, and admitted that you neither know nor wish to know
how they work, so what is your basis for this attack?
The simple truth is that there is nothing Seebs can do to prevent spam
from reaching Google's archive of c.l.c.m., nor to remove it after the
fact.
