Guys,

I been trying to program in both C and Fortran. The code contains
nothing but lots of multiply and add such as

for i = 0, imax
  ........

  A(i,j,k) = B(i,j,k)*C(i,j,k) + .......

......

I found the code generated by C compiler runs MUCH slower than that
generated by Fortran compiler. (I used MS compilers with full
optimization on). I even looked at the assembly codes, they are quite
similar but the assembly code generated by Fortran compiler looks nicer
(and runs MUCH faster). Does anybody know why?
