Does anyone know of any books that contain good information about using
VB for data access? - especially relating to remote databases (SQL Server,
Oracle, etc.)

Thanks, Erik Butz ejb...@mtu.edu

"Database Developer's Guide with Visual Basic 3.0" by Roger Jennings has
received very favorable reviews and is selling quite briskly.

I am currrently reading a book published by SAMS called
"Database developers guide with visual Basic (TM) 3"

Author: Roger Jennings
ISBN: 0-672-30440-6

It has 1100+ pages, and seems thorough. I have not done too
much eiterh DB or VB work, but need to do some of it now.
The book is thorough on DB, and seems to cover VB rather
well too. I really cannot comment on how it is compared to
other books, but my first purcase "Tricks of the VB3 masters"
was a piece of junk.

I have not covered the whole book (far from it - got it just
two days ago), but I looks promising (not taking weight into
account).

I have a book called "Database developers Guide in Visual Basic" by Roger
Jennings published by SAMS publishing. Its not bad and has a fair bit of
info on remote databases. Unfortunately I dont have it here so I cant
give you the ISBN, its in most of the shops here in Sydney so I dont
imagine its too hard to get hold of.
