Why don't replaced filetype icons appear?

I have just redesigned the application and filetype icons of an older
project. The application icon set was added to the App > Appearance > Icon
values and the filetype icon set added similarly to FileTypes. After
building the project, I then compile the files with Inno Setup for
installation.

After installation, the old application icon has been replaced with the
new one in all instances but the filetype icon is still the old one
(except, immediately after building the project when, as the folder
containing the built project opens, associated files show the new icon -
However, as soon as this window is closed and reopened they revert back to
the old one).
Can anyone suggest why or what I am doing wrong?
I am using Realbasic 2008 release 1 building for Windows XP. The icons are
added as jpegs.
