Not so. Back in the 70's we wanted to use some of my packages to test
out a new APL system which did not yet have comunications. I sat in one
city and read from function displays (over the phone) to a colleague
(who could touch type APL) sitting at one of our computers in another
city. I didn't even need to speak particularly slowly.

 Hi Paul,
I've switched over to my new Win7-64 machine. No DOS applications run!
Instead one must install DOSBox and inside that box you then mount a folder
as the C: drive (or whatever drives you need). For fonts it uses the old
aplfont.com with no problem.
Don <[link]> (e-mail link at home page bottom).

One of my clients, who until recently used APL heavily in an area
where it was historically strong, is committed to and is migrating to
Java. Corporate mandate, just do it. Watching from a distance, it
looked to me that nine women really can produce one baby in a month.
Well, maybe a few more than nine.

 Hi Paul,
You know I had downloaded yours sometime in the past. Yes, your fonts are
better. Since I didn't remove the first ones I now have both. Except in
Windows 7 there is no install for fonts. When you copy a font file to that
folder it installs automatically.
Thanks, Don <[link]> (e-mail link at home page bottom).

You might have been! Excel is one of the other tools i.e. one that APL
has to compete with.
Incidentally, Excel makes no claim for domain experise as any kind of
prerequisite but caters for mathematicians, accountants etc with the
added advantage that it beats APL hands down when it comes to data
presentation.

Why would you need to see APL mentioned as the power behind the
website?
In the new J generated html that is in early beta there is not much
said that is is generated by a J engine.
Maybe that is something that should by put into the comments generated
like sometimes there is a mention of Java script in html?
