Wouldn't the first challenge be to have APL run in the browser, since that's where the DOM resides?

The fact that this thread is almost ten years old does not bode well. I know theres a corporate presence of APL, and some of the vendors are still viable. However, as Roger Waters so famously wondered, 'Is there anybody out there?'

I look at how Javascript can access the DOM of a webpage and I wonder if an APL can also do that. Even though Javascript has taken on many of the features that APL had in the last millennium (non-scalar data handling being at the core) the lack of an obvious way to access a webpage seems to be an obstacle to APL's <strikeout>world domination</strikeout> mainstreaming. Like APL-JSON (thanks @Flugfiskur) I believe this will open possibilities.

In my opinion, the APL2 Language Reference manual is the best resource for
understanding the APL primitives. Of particular interest to you may be the
fact that most of the more complex primitives are defined in terms of
simpler primitives. You can get the APL2 LRM here:

[link]

 >
Hi Mark,

interesting question. But I don't think that comparing the numbers at
that flight level gives much insight. One should dive at least one level
deeper into the directory tree of MVT for APL to find:

find . -maxdepth 1 -type d -exec du -ks {} \; | sort -n
4	./log
4	./pch
4	./prt
