It does not appear to automatically use Google's DNS, at least from
observation here (namely that Chrome finds the internal IP for zones
hosted using split DNS models)
Rather, Google Chrome does pre-caching similar to Google's DNS, but it
does pre-caching against your locally defined DNS servers.
