Can anyone suggest some good index pages with links to lots of other
pages... for example the "Commercial Sites on the Web" page,
(http://tns-www.lcs.mit.edu/commerce.html) and things of that nature.

It'd be cool to have some kinda "Web yellow-pages" or other comprehensive
index.  Searchable, too.

It has links for WWW users to everything they might need for HTML and
Web stuff.

we have a pretty comprehensive listing at the Yahoo Database:

it's an attempt to be organized by subject (although not very well) -
but we are working on it...

My favourite Web index is Yahoo. It contains over 10,000 links and is
located at :

http://akebono.stanford.edu/yahoo/

And it's searchable too !

Jerry, That is really cool, but the google (www.google.com) seems to
give you results closer to what you searched for. I have an idea, to
advertise the yahoo site, have a yodoler who yodols ya-hoo! It seems
pretty cool.
