Table 100% and horizontal scrollbar, why?

If you create a table width=100%, the horizontal scrollbar will appear under IE8. Example: <html> <body> <table width=100%><tr><td></td></tr>< /table> </body> </html> Is it normal? Why? And how to avoid it? I could use 99% instead 100% but I don't like the workaround very much.

I've encountered a problem with HTML files generated by Mathcad using the "save as HTML" option. Among other things, Mathcad allows for text, math, and graph objects. Hi All, Does anyone know what causes this character to be displayed in browsers: ? If you don't see it, it looks like a diamond with a question mark at its center.

I just insalled IE8 and it now takes about 15 seconds for a web page to load. Is anyone else experiencing this? Also can I unistall IE8 and go back to IE7? Thanks

.xls attachments default to error "Exce.exe" instead of MS Office Excel

I use a Dell DT with MS XP, Office 2003 and have not had this problem since I bought my computer 4 years ago. The default says "Notepad" ?! even though when I go to Firefox Tools, Apps, Excel worksheets it shows office excel default.
