I can't export CSS to external stylesheet

Hi there, I hope someone can help me. I'm a CSS newbie working on my
first CSS based website. I made the homepage and now want to add pages
using an external stylesheet. It works fine as an internal stylesheet
but as soon as I export it, it doesn't work anymore!! So
frustrating!! The link the external style sheet is correct. I've
double checked all the obvious things but nothing seems to work. Any
suggestions???

First, four questions to clarify things a bit, if I may.

1) What does "It[1]" refer to? "the homepage"? "an external stylesheet"?
2) What does "it[2]" refer to? "It[1]"? "an internal stylesheet"? and
3) What does "it[3]" refer to? "It[1]"? "It[2]"? other?
4) What was "The link the external style sheet is correct." trying to say?
- "The link" from *where*? *In* the external stylesheet? - if so, to where?
or *To* the external stylesheet? - if so, from where?

You can't add pages to your website using a stylesheet, at least not
normally. You must create new HTML docs. An external stylesheet can
style any number of pages.

What exactly does this mean? You mean by internal, a stylesheet in the
head of your document? Or do you mean simply on your local machine off
a server but using a separate style sheet linked to from the head in
your HTML doc?
