hide div by javascript

Hi There,
I'm trying to hide a div when my java script gets executed but it
doesn't seem to work.
My script looks like this, I see the message test popup but the div
doesn't disappear.

designing for cell phones?

How does one go about making a site cell phone friendly? Is there some
difference. I try to make the site so it scales to the browser, of
course graphics hinder that.

I "manage" a page for a friend and a couple of times a year I get a
message from her that the page is not showing the new information. I
use WS_FTP to upload new files to the server and everything works on
my end, but she doesn't get updates showing on her end. There are

Sizing on android phone

I've a basic page which, onload, returns the viewport size.
When I run the page on a Samsung GS it returns 450 x 320.
