Lynx is indeed a text only browser. Many ISPs have Lynx installed on their
server and all you need to do is telnet into your account and type Lynx to
start it. If that is not available on your server you could also install it
yourself if you have shell access. There is a very comprehensive list of
browsers (including Lynx) andthere download sites that includes all
platforms and current as well as older versions in the Reference Room
