Do you have such a NG?

It would seem beneficial to have one dedicated to HTML5.

What do you think?

What?

Please learn the basics of Usenet conduct before suggesting the creation
of new groups. It is bad practice to imply the Subject line in content.

No it would not, and your past babbling about this in an off-topic group
(c.l.javascript) suggests that you have no idea of how Usenet works.

There's a lot of room in this group for discussing all aspects of HTML
authoring for the WWW. There is no point in creating new groups when the
old groups are dying.

(But not to HTML5 alone, excluding all the other HTML versions.)

Have you considered Thomas' valid points about the HTML5 DOM API? In a
strict sense these topics might be neither on topic in c.i.w.a.html nor
in c.l.js.

Follow up to c.l.js (at least I tried to)

The traffic in the current comp.infosystems.www.authoring.html is so
light that, today, creating such a newsgroup could not be justified.
Thus, a new newsgroup would not likely be approved limited to only HTML5.

In any case, the creation of the comp.infosystems.www.authoring.html
newsgroup in 1995 did not restrict it to any particular version of HTML.
Since HTML5 is thus on-topic for comp.infosystems.www.authoring.html,
approval of a new newsgroup specific to HTML5 is extremely doubtful.

You do have the freedom to create an alt.HTML5 newsgroup. However,
there have been threats of criminal prosecution against newsgroup hosts
(NNTP service providers or NSPs) over a number of alt.* newsgroups that
carried child pornography. As a result, many NSPs have dropped all
alt.* newsgroups because that is easier than trying to determine which
ones are criminal. Therefore, an alt.HTML5 newsgroup would not reach as
broad an audience as the existing comp.infosystems.www.authoring.html.

Trolls are best ignored.

Long ago, when newsgroups were young and strong, it was easy to check
group descriptions. This group still has one:
"This newsgroup covers discussion of HyperText Markup Language (HTML) as
it relates to web page authoring. Possible subjects include HTML
editors, formatting tricks, and current and proposed HTML standards."

The meaning of "HTML" has changed over the years, and there's little
reason to exclude any aspect of HTML5 drafts here.

We can return to the issue if the amount of HTML5 discussions becomes
excessively large here and makes things too difficult to people who only
wish to read discussions related to HTML strictly as a markup notation.

I have:
"Writing HTML for the Web."
ftp://ftp.isc.org/pub/usenet/CONFIG/

BTW, the description for alt.html is:
"Use comp.infosystems.www.authoring.html instead."
