Subject: Digitizing in ILWIS (opensource)
Hello:

I have an image (TIFF) that created by taking a screenshot of a map.  I
have georeferenced this image in ILWIS and now want to digitize areas of
this map.  I can digitize using the segment operation using one of my
GeoTIFF's, but for this TIFF that I created it doesn't seem to work.  I
have created a domain (Group type) for this and have followed all the
appropriate steps.  Any suggestions on what the problem could be?

Try to geo-reference your image using tie-point then perform a
transformation.

The result will be a geo-corrected image. I believe this is the right
type of image that can be used to digitizing in WLWIS.

The procedures in WLWIS is a bit more complicated than commercial
packages since it was design for learning: user have to do more but
will gain more understanding at the end.

Start with the help under the Digitizing section, then with the User-
guide here, as I remember it should have instruction and even step-by-
step tutorial on most of the Ilwis operation.
